This qualification provides a general vocational outcome in landscape construction. The landscaping industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level. This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. It is recommended that participants:
- Be at least 15 years of age or older and;
- Have at least a Year 8 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
DELIVERY
There are a range of delivery mode options for this qualification:
- Self-Paced (Online)
- Students undertake individual activities and work-based assignments through an online external learning program.
- Students are given 12 months to complete the qualification (no minimum timeframe for completion). Activities are self-paced to meet the students’ varying needs (e.g. work commitments, amount of time available for study).
- Students must have access to an internet connection, have basic computer skills (including using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint) and an ability to research information.
- CSTC has a dedicated Support Co-ordinator available to assist students throughout their learning experience. Assessments are marked within five (5) business days.
- Blended Delivery (Face-to-Face and Online)
- Classroom training is available for companies looking to upskill employees and subcontractors at a time and location that suits (minimum numbers apply). This training is supplemented with online learning.
- Assessments are to be fully completed within 12 months of the training.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Gap Training
- Students’ existing skills and knowledge are considered against course requirements. Examples of evidence collected include:
- Direct evidence – such as samples of work, photos, video, references
- Indirect evidence – such as awards, resumes, workplace memos/letters
- Historical evidence – such as past employer references, logbooks
- Evidence is evaluated and gaps in students’ knowledge and skills are determined so that training and assessment can be organised. Where entire units are to be assessed in full, students are given access to an external online learning program to complete.
- Where RPL is requested, students are supplied with an RPL application upon enrolment
- Students’ existing skills and knowledge are considered against course requirements. Examples of evidence collected include:

Elective Units
A maximum of four (4) units may be selected from units aligned to Certificates II, III or IV in AHC or from any other currently endorsed training package or accredited course. Selected units must be relevant to job outcomes in landscaping and must be chosen to ensure the integrity of the qualification outcome at AQF Level 3.
ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS
Participants will be required to successfully complete a series of assessment tasks which may include a written exam, practical demonstration / observation, case studies, assignments and group activities.
