Asbestos containing materials (ACM) were used in the construction of many Queensland buildings before 1990. Exposure to ACM may result in lung cancer, mesothelioma, asbestosis or plural plaques.
It is important for workers who may be exposed to ACM to understand the risks associated with exposure to asbestos, how to identify and report possible ACM and which persons may legally undertake removal of the ACM.
