move into more skilled roles or full-time employment.<\/p>\n<p>You can participate in a general training pathway, which provides reduced-cost entry-level training aligned to the skill outcomes required by industry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>To be eligible for Career Start Funding (General Training), prospective students must:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\u2022 Be aged 15 years or older, and no longer in school<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Permanently live in Queensland<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with an <a href=\"https:\/\/desbt.qld.gov.au\/training\/training-careers\/support\/migrants-refugees\" data-linktype=\"page_redirect\">eligible visa subclass<\/a><\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Not already have a Certificate III or higher qualification completed within the last 10 years (qualifications completed as a school student, and foundation skills qualifications don&#8217;t count)<\/li>\n<li>\u2022 Not be enrolled in another qualification, even if it&#8217;s on hold or deferred, whether funded or not (foundation skills qualification don&#8217;t count)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Student fee contribution<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Given the benefits that accrue to individuals from training, students are required to contribute to the costs of their training through a co-contribution fee (see table below). \u00a0The fee may be paid on behalf of the student by an employer or a third party, but cannot be paid or waived by CSTC Pty
