This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to operate vehicle loading cranes with a Maximum Rated Capacity (MRC) of 10 metre tonnes or more safely – including planning work, undertaking routine checks, setting up the crane, the mobile and transfer of loads, and the safe and secure shutdown of equipment after completing operations.
A person operating a vehicle loading crane is required to hold a high risk work licence (HRWL). This course meets the formal training requirements required for a licence, as outlined by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A person undertaking this unit must hold a current HRWL to perform dogging.
It is also recommended that participants:

This course is delivered over five (5) days for the formal training and assessment. The participant is to undertake workplace training with a supervisor who holds the relevant high risk work licence. Evidence of this informal learning must be produced to the assessor prior to undertaking the mandated assessment (e.g. completed logbook or other job training records).
