SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness


NRT_logo_specifications_Transparent background)This course intends to provide participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a fitness instructor or personal trainer. The course is designed to cater to the modern instructor, offering a wide variety of class formats and training.

Entry Requirements
  • Have at least a year 8 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills.


Delivery

This course is delivered and assessed face to face or online/distance learning with practical activity sessions over a 12 month period.


Units of Competency

16 units must be completed:

  • 9 core units
  • 7 elective units

  • SISFFIT001 Provide health screening and fitness orientation
  • SISFFIT002 Recognise and apply exercise considerations for specific populations
  • SISFFIT003 Instruct fitness programs
  • SISFFIT004 Incorporate anatomy and physiology principles into fitness programming
  • SISFFIT005 Provide healthy eating information
  • SISFFIT014 Instruct exercise to older clients
  • SISXCCS001 Provide quality service
  • SISXFAC001 Maintain equipment for activities
  • SISXIND001 Work effectively in sport, fitness and recreation environments

Electives

  • BSBRSK401 Identify risk and apply risk management processes
  • First Aid Cluster (providing credit for HLTAID003 Provide first aid, plus 1 of the following units)
  • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting
  • HLTWHS001 Participate in workplace health and safety
  • SISFFIT006 Conduct fitness appraisals
  • SISFFIT007 Instruct group exercise sessions
  • SISFFIT011 Instruct approved community fitness programs

Assessment requirements

Participants will be required to successfully complete a series of assessment tasks.

  • Qualification assessment is made up of:
    • Short response
    • Multiple choice
    • Case studies

Funding Available

Certificate 3 Guarantee – these funds are provided by the Queensland Department of Education, Training and Employment. To determine if you are eligible for funding, please refer to Certificate 3 Guarantee Funded Program Information Sheet. To apply for Certificate 3 Guarantee funding, please complete and submit the Application for Certificate 3 Guarantee Program funding.  If you wish to apply as a concessional student, please complete and submit the Application for Concessional Student Status.

Refund Policy and General Terms and Conditions
The Refund Policy confirms that refunds are provided (as appropriate) within an acceptable time frame.  In all instances, a full refund of the applicable fees will be made to the payer if training is cancelled by Embark College for any reason.  Please refer to the Embark College website for further information regarding refunds and cancellations.

    This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills in areas such as customer service, developing business documentation and continuous improvement systems.

    BSB30415 Certificate III Business Administration

    This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills in areas such as customer service, developing business documentation and continuous improvement systems. During the qualification the student will learn how to improve efficiency in daily business operations and enhance understanding of business regulations.

    BSB40415 Certificate IV in Small Business Management

    This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of small business contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others, and have responsibility for the output of others.

  • CHC33015 – Certificate III in Individual Support

    This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs.

  • CHC50113 Diploma Early Childhood Education and Care

    This course intends to provide participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to provide support in development and care of children. Create educational and exciting experiences for young children.

    CHC30113 Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care

    This course intends to provide participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively care, create and engage in exciting educational programs to assist development of young children.

  • AHC21616 Certificate II in Landscaping

    This qualification provides an occupational outcome in floriculture. The floriculture industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level.  This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship. Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include: flower grower.


    AHC30916 Certificate III Landscaping Construction

    This qualification provides a general vocational outcome in landscape construction. The landscaping industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level. Further training pathways from this qualification include, but are not limited to, Certificate IV in Horticulture or Diploma of Landscape Design.

    AHC30716 Certificate III Horticulture

    This qualification provides a general vocational outcome in amenity horticulture. Further training pathways from this qualification include any of the specialist qualifications at Certificate IV. Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include: Horticulturist or gardener.


    AHC31316 Certificate III Sports Turf Management

    This qualification provides a general vocational outcome in green keeping. The sports turf industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level. Further training pathways from this qualification include, but are not limited to, Certificate IV in Sports Turf Management.

    AHC31016 Certificate III Parks and Gardens

    This qualification provides a vocational outcome in parks and gardens. The parks and gardens industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level.
