Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) Funding

CSTC are proud recipients of Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) funding

 

 

 

Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) is an independent industry-funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices and career seekers in the building and construction industry.

If you are currently working in the Queensland building and construction industry you may be eligible for CSQ funded training to advance or expand your skills under one of the CSQ programs listed here:

 

  • Short course program

    The Short Courses program provides funding to assist with upskilling and cross skilling existing workers in the building and construction industry.  Short Courses are individual competencies and skills sets designed to provide  flexible solutions to workers wanting to update their skills and knowledge to meet the  licensing, regulatory and safety requirements of the industry.

    Eligibility for the short course program

    To be eligible for the Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) Short Courses program, individuals must:

    • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or hold a refugee or humanitarian visa
    • permanently reside in Queensland or be permanently employed in Queensland
    • be an existing and eligible worker in the building and construction industry who has had a one month or more employment relationship with their employer. The working relationship can be built up through full-time, part-time or casual employment or engagement as a contract worker
    • not be an employee of any Authority or a Registered Training Organisation
    • not be a contracted trainer or assessor of a Registered Training Organisation
    • not be currently enrolled or participating in a Queensland secondary school program
    • not have been previously funded under this program, with any RTO, for three (3) short courses in the same contract period (CSQ contract year is 1 October to 30 September)
    • not have been funded by an Authority for delivery of the same training being undertaken as a part of this program
    • not be seeking a Verification of Competency or Determination of Competency

  • Skills Assessment and Gap Training General/Civil Construction Program

    If you work in the general or civil construction workforce and have learnt their skills on the job but don’t hold a formal qualification, the  Skills Assessment and Gap Training (SAGT) program may be suited to you.

    Eligibility for the Skills Assessment and Gap Training General/Civil Program

    • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, a permanent resident of Australia or hold a refugee or humanitarian visa
    • permanently reside in Queensland or be permanently employed in Queensland
    • be an existing and eligible worker in the building and construction industry who has had a one month or more employment relationship with their employer. The working relationship can be built up through full-time, part-time or casual employment or engagement as a contract worker OR a career seeker who holds previous experience in the building and construction industry
    • not be an employee of any Authority or a Registered Training Organisation
    • not be a contracted trainer or assessor of a Registered Training Organisation
    • not be currently enrolled or participating in a Queensland secondary school program
    • not have been funded by an Authority for delivery of the same training being undertaken as a part of this program

  • Higher Level Skills General/Civil Construction

    The Higher Level Skills program provides nationally accredited qualifications including Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma. The Higher Level Skills program is targeted to existing workers in the building and construction industry to assist in career development and is designed to help you gain new skills and knowledge.
