Asbestos containing materials (ACM) were used in the construction of many Queensland buildings before 1990. These materials can include:
Exposure to ACM may result in lung cancer, mesothelioma, asbestosis or plural plaques. It is important for workers who may be exposed to ACM to understand the risks associated with exposure to asbestos, how to identify and report possible ACM and what persons may legally undertake removal of the ACM.
There are no pre-requisites for attending this session, however basic English language skills are recommended.
This session is delivered over a two (2) hours in a face-to-face classroom setting.
