This qualification provides an occupational outcome in parks and gardens. The parks and gardens industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level. Further training pathways from this qualification include, but are not limited to, Certificate III in Parks and Gardens.

Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include: Assistant gardener or Grounds person.

Entry Requirements

Participants must:
• Be at least 15 years of age or older and;
• Have at least a year 8 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills.


Delivery

Self-paced over 12-24 months. Course materials, assessment guidelines and activities will be delivered in a distance/online learning format. Written assessments will be submitted online.


Units of Competency

Completion of fifteen (15) units made up of nine(9) core units and six (6) elective units.

Assessment Requirements
Participants will be required to successfully complete a series of assessment tasks which may include a written exam, practical demonstration / observation, case studies and group activities.

    BSB30415 Certificate III Business Administration

    This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills in areas such as customer service, developing business documentation and continuous improvement systems. During the qualification the student will learn how to improve efficiency in daily business operations and enhance understanding of business regulations.

    BSB40415 Certificate IV in Small Business Management

    This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of small business contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others, and have responsibility for the output of others.

  • CHC33015 – Certificate III in Individual Support

    This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs.

    This qualification provides a general vocational outcome in landscape construction. The landscaping industry expects this qualification to be achieved to meet job outcomes at this level. Further training pathways from this qualification include, but are not limited to, Certificate IV in Horticulture or Diploma of Landscape Design.

    AHC30716 Certificate III Horticulture
