Green Management – Dealing With Sustainability

CSTC is committed to sustainable workforce practices to reduce our impact on the environment by seeking to minimise our energy consumptions and recycling to reduce our footprint.

CSTC Code of Practice on waste and environment protection focuses on:

  • Minimising and reducing our waste wherever possible;
  • Recycling all that is recyclable;
  • Considering environmental impacts in our purchasing policies and actions;
  • Endeavoring to work with partner organisations that share our green values;
  • Encouraging team members to be “Green Citizens” who act responsibly with a collegiate attitude toward sustainability;
  • Utilising water, power and gas utilities and energies sparingly;
  • Reusing consumable materials at every opportunity;
  • Aligning CSTC to green organisations (suppliers, clients and partners);
  • Minimising our use of printed materials and direct mail; and
  • Utilising public transport prudently to help minimise the impact of private transport in the environment.

Environment

With intention, we operate our business in an as environmentally friendly way as we can by:

  • Turning off our computers and monitors when they are not being used;
  • Encouraging team members to actively avoid wasteful printing;
  • Using both sides of waste paper before recycling;
  • Print one copy of circular memos and other inter-office documents with a signature column and circulate these instead of printing off a separate copy for everyone;
  • Actively focusing on email and web based communication;
  • Minimize our use of paper-based marketing and enrolment and registration;
  • Recycle all non-confidential paper in our office;
  • Recycle our old computers, mobile phones and printer cartridges;
  • Use electronic whiteboards and/or overhead projectors to display meeting agendas rather than printing and distributing them;
  • Make sure all heaters, air conditioners and lights are off in rooms not in use and especially overnight; and
  • Encourage all employees to be “Green” Innovators to improve the impact on the environment in their day-to-day routine, roles and actions.
